The Phoenix

A breath in the world of evil,
Wanes confidence with every passing hour,
An attempt to climb on the top,
Drains blood from every rising feet.

Dread not, O! human,
For only an empty vessel can have fresh water,
For only lacking can gain confidence,
For only imperfect can feel perfection.

Rise, O! Phoenix,
Produce a new propellor,
Drive the vessel to safe shore,
For waves would conspire clean flow of oar.

For every clot in blood,
Generate a new flush,
In the dim light only,
Rises the phoenix, emitting light from pyre.
